
Our Food, Our Journey
Following a series of pop-up dinners around Canberra and Sydney, Muku Ramen Bar opened at the Scullin Shops in 2023. We built community through food by providing a welcoming and comfortable environment to dine in for our customers along with great service and amazing food.
Our team of Japanese led chefs focused on seasonal ingredients prepared in house to bring you a unique culinary experience combining unique flavours and textures. With intentionality in every dish our customers tasted the difference.
By combining shōjin preparation techniques and flavours from Hokkaido with modern classics, we’re bringing you a dining experience you haven’t had before. We expanded to offer a seasonal pop-up cafe providing innovative Japanese brunch and lunch options as well.
Muku Ramen Bar wrapped up its journey at Scullin March 2026 to focus on new projects.

Chef Rina Miyata
Rina is a Hokkaido born Japanese chef and the creative force behind Muku. Rina is food obsessed and has been cooking from a very young age. Years of experience combined with her passion for food culminated in Muku Ramen Bar opening its doors in 2023 which provided a creative and delicious offering completely new to Canberra.
Rina’s greatest joy in life is providing delicious food to people, so please join our community and keep your eye out for an opportunity to share a meal with us.
Our Community
Alongside our dinner service, we’ve serial collaborators and Chef Rina is a creative at heart. To combine this, we often ran ticketed special events including high teas, culture and language exchanges and more.
